RAPID MENDER 3 COMPONENT | 1 TO 1 MIX RATIO EPOXY

  E2U Rapid Mender™ is a high-penetration two-part polyurea that when combined with an optional grit size silica sand creates a VERY strong concrete spall, joint and crack filler. This nearly water-thin formula to fill in imperfections in your concrete surface prior to applying decorative coatings for a smooth flat, imperfect surface. Can be mixed and applied in a wide range of temperatures but when applied at approx. 72 degrees, time to grind flush w/surface will be approximately 20 minutes.

CURING AND FINISHING

Cure time is 20-30 minutes at 72° F. Repairs can be ground smooth, polished or coated after one hour.    

APPLICATIONS

• Repairing cracks, where future movement is not anticipated. • Restoring integrity to distressed concrete. • Repairing spalls and pop-outs in concrete. • Securing bolts, equipment, or railings into concrete. • Vertical repairs when combined with specified sand. • Repairing concrete surface imperfections prior to coating. • Repairing cracks and spalls prior to coating. • Repairing polished concrete. • Polishing pit grout. • Freezer thresholds and floor repairs.    

ADVANTAGES

• Ultra low viscosity allows deep penetration into concrete. • When combined with manufactured sand, Rapid MenderTM will form a tough 4500 psi polymer concrete with similar properties to existing concrete that will stay pliable over time. • Safe to use. Materials react quickly. • Self-leveling or may be combined with sand and worked with a trowel. Stays workable longer than similar materials. • Completely cures in 20 minutes after application at 72° F. Will also cure in subzero environments.  

LIMITATIONS

Concrete must be clean, dry and free of dirt and contaminates. Use mechanical methods to remove loose concrete and profile hard trowled surfaces. Use surface applied heat to remove ice or frost if present.

MIXING

1 to 1 mix ratio. In measuring cup pour out equal parts of A & B and slowly drill stir while adding 2 parts Silica Sand for body and added strength. i.e. -2 ounces of A, mixed with 2 ounces of B for a total of 4 liquid ounces, you will now add 8 ounces of silica sand and thoroughly drill stir for 30-45 seconds...POUR IMMEDIATELY...mix only what you can use in 3-5 minutes. - For a lower - more pourable viscosity, less aggrigate may be added. NOTE: 30 grit silica sand is the standard size generally added but you can choose to use a smaller grit such as 60 or 90 for an even finer and smoother finish.

WARNING! SLIP AND FALL PRECAUTIONS

OSHA and the American Disabilities Act (ADA) have now set enforceable standards for slipresistance on pedestrian surfaces. The current coefficient of friction required by ADA is .6 on level surfaces and .8 on ramps. E2U recommends the use of angular slip-resistant aggregate in all coatings or flooring systems that may be exposed to wet, oily or greasy conditions. It is the contractor and end users’ responsibility to provide a flooring system that meets current safety standards. E2U or its sales agents will not be responsible for injury incurred in a slip and fall accident.  

Handling Precautions

Use only with adequate ventilation. Appropriate cartridge-type respirator must be used during application in confined areas. Avoid contact with skin. Some individuals may be allergic to epoxy resin. Protective gloves and clothing are recommended.

E2U products are warranted for one year after date of purchase. Please refer to the Limited Material warranty for additional clarification.

Rapid Mender is our surface repair product for spall, joint and small cracks to concrete. Rapid Mender cures in as little as 15 minutes and can be opened to heavy duty traffic in just 30 minutes. It offers major benefits over more traditional repair products, through minimal disruption and downtime. Rapid Mender can be used safely in freezing environments at temperatures down to -30°C. Internal and external floor slabs can be repaired using the Rapid Mender. NOTE: Setting times increase marginally in colder environments.
